Our story begins here...

The story began here with this handmade log cabin on 3 acres

We purchased an additional 140 acres in 1980 and began renting campsites in our beautiful park-like Cathedral Sugar bush. Our dream was to teach survival skills .It wasn't long before we had folks sleeping in our cabin and we ended up  on the floor by the fireplace.

Finally the dream began to unfold......

Sallie & Sashie

1980

We begin to build the  Greenhope Farmhouse

Inn by sawing our own lumber with the help of friends in the community

Sallie and Ned preparing to gather more logs.

Neighbors and friends helped push the walls up and into place. There are no pictures of the actual pushing because all hands were needed on deck!

Roof is almost on. June 1984

Final exterior cedar shakes going on. We broke ground for the house on May 3rd and our first B&B full house was scheduled for the fourth of July. We had to really jam!

The Greenhope Farm was sold but the dream did not die.
